I have an NSS8 (U.S. Version).  When I go to Tools, then Satellites, and then hit Configure, I get a screen with two sections.  The top section is called "Configuration" and has a check box to Enable WAAS/MSAS/EGNOS.  The bottom section is called "Advanced Options" and has box called "Instance" where a three digit number can be input.  There is nothing in the Operator Manual regarding the Advanced Options/Instance.  What is this "Instance" input for, and how does it work?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Hi,

That field is nothing for the end user to use, so don't worry about it.

It’s an automatically set feature for when more than one of the same products is in a system to identify them. It will allocate a “instance” to each device, i.e. 001, 002, 003 and so on.

All the best,

Thanks for the response. I was hoping that that field would let me tell the NSS8 which WAAS satellite to look for, in order to make acquiring a WAAS fix quicker. Oh well, I guess that's not the case.
