What charts are embedded for the NSS? What areas and what level do they cover? The website says Navionics Coastal, please explain?

The Simrad NSS comes pre-loaded with Navionics Silver charts for the whole of Asia-Pacific (includes all of Australia and NZ)

If you wish for greater detail or features, you can at any time purchase a Gold or Platinum chart card and use these. Many boaters find, however, that Navionics Silver is enough for most applications, so it's probably worth trying it out before you invest in a chart.

The Simrad NSO also comes pre-loaded with Silver charts, the NSE comes pre-loaded with Navionics Platinum charts. Again you may upgrade your charts if you choose.

Navionics Silver charts have all above-water navigational features, however the depth contour lines are only marked down to a depth of around 10 metres.

Navionics Gold charts are a complete chart with all navigational features, and all depth contours. The Gold charts look just like using a paper chart.

Navionics Platinum charts include everything on the Gold, plus aerial photos. Platinum is the "best of the best" for marine charting.
